Most Conspiracy Theories Popping Up Today are Intended to Mislead Us

The greatest weapon that the “bad guys” can use is misdirection and flooding the system. We’re seeing this happen today right when the dissemination of real conspiracies was finally hitting its stride. The effect is that conspiracy theorists have been forced into obscurity right before they could be taken seriously.

You’ll see it on most conspiracy theory sites today, particularly those who rely on user-generated content such as forums and aggregators. The truth was coming out nicely and groups were forming around popular conspiracies like 9/11 and end times eschatology. Rather than quashing the informants and investigators, the powers that be have flooded the system. Now, everything is a conspiracy theory.

If there’s a major event such as the recent shootings in South Carolina, it is guaranteed that there will be a ton of stories and videos that point to the event as black flag, the Israelis, MK Ultra, or any of the dozens of “go-to culprits” that get people to click through only to be disappointed by the shady hypotheses, the inaccurate evidence, and the regurgitation of debunked possibilities. As strange as it may sound, it’s hard to find a reputable conspiracy theory website anymore. They’ve gone for sensationalizing the falsehoods rather than highlighting the truths.

In essence, the homes for the “good guys” have become part of the problem. It’s infuriating. Sifting through misinformation is like looking for chocolate in a pile of feces. It’s all the same color but the smell of the bad stuff overpowers the scent of the good stuff.

I wish I had a solution to this problem or a point for this rant, but I don’t. Unfortunately, it’s not just the nefarious powers and principalities that are flooding the systems. There are plenty of people who probably started off with good intentions of exposing the truth to the people but somewhere along the line they realized they could make good money with pageviews on their websites and plays on their YouTube videos, so they embraced the sensational rather than exposing the truth. They went from seekers to pimps. They lost their way in the name of greed and/or power and popularity. They might not even know that they’re doing it.

We appear to be in the end times, which means there are scoffers afoot. The fact that many of the “good guys” are going to the dark side of conspiracy theories is alarming to the point of disillusion. If anyone knows of a truthful conspiracy theory site that doesn’t pander to pageviews, I’d love to hear about it.
