Why the Left is Rooting for Trump… and Doing ALL They can to Keep Him Relevant

The Democratic Party in the United States is in trouble. Their top candidate is unpopular and their rising stars to challenge her are risky. As a group, they see trouble in 2016. Their solution has emerged and it has nothing to do with their candidates. Donald Trump will either help them win or guarantee it.

Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Scott Walker all have the chops to beat Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, or Martin O’Malley. Ben Carson and Rand Paul have a good chance as well. However, all of their thunder is being sucked into the Trump vacuum right now and if it continues, his disruptive power will do damage to the GOP’s best candidates. Unfortunately, that’s the best case scenario.

The worst case scenario is that he goes beyond being a disruption and follows through with his threat to be a third-party candidate. That would be so detrimental to the Republican candidate that it will assure that the White House will stay with the Democrats regardless of who they put up as a candidate.

The Democratic Party knows this very well. Left-leaning mainstream media recognizes it quite clearly. The sideshow that is Donald Trump’s candidacy has only two hopes of not derailing the chances of a conservative President. Either he continues his campaign until he loses the nomination and rightly chooses not to run as a third party candidate or he wins it outright.

Many of his ideas are resonating exceptional well with people on both sides of the political spectrum. What seemed at first to be waves for the sake of making waves are now actions that seem to be appealing to a chunk of the population. If he can somehow pull out a GOP nomination, he would have a chance of winning the general election. However, at this point it would appear that his chances are still lower than true conservatives who should get the nomination ahead of him.

Whether he has the ability to win the nomination or not is up in the air, but the left does not think that he can win the general election. Their perception is that he’s too easy to attack, too unpopular, and too polarizing. They see him as the ultimate weapon for keeping a strong candidate away from the ticket before the general election which is why they will continue to shine as much of a spotlight on him as possible.

Some are saying that this is an ego thing, but seems on the surface that Donald Trump really wants to help the country. He would probably make a good Vice President for Cruz, Walker, or Carson, but it’s questionable whether or not he really can make a positive impact as President.

Don’t misunderstand. We know he can make an impact. The question is whether or not it would be a positive one. At this point, the answer seems to be “no.”
