No, they were visited by demonic entities that told them future technology would enable them to be cloned. That explains mummies. Ding ding ding.

These “people” would be the product of fallen angels reproducing with earth women, which produced a race of spiritually charged, incredibly intelligent hybrids with some rather remarkable physical features, including but not limited to enlarged/elongated heads, varying sizes and statures well above normal, six fingers/toes, or any number of combinations or genetic oddities.
The thought process is loosely in the same general direction, but the conclusion of “aliens” is simply one more layer of the deception/illusion. A dramatic entrance from an angel with malicious intentions would easily be taken as the entrance of a god; it would certainly have far more advanced understanding of the physical and the spiritual, including knowledge of technology that would literally be inconceivable to people even today.
