WikiLeaks Fans the Flame on Hilary Clinton Putting Hit Out on Murdered DNC Staffer

This presidential race has been nothing short of a circus. Each candidate has head their fair share of bizarre attacks made against them. Some more than others, but the latest conspiracy theory is getting some serious backing. 

Last month, DNC staff, Seth Rich was shot and killed in Washington D.C. during the early morning hours. While authorities are calling it a robbery gone bad, others are pointing to other sinister reasons. In fact, several conspiracy theorists have shared their latest idea that Rich was on his way to meet with the FBI to give the inside information about the Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton. To keep him quiet and save her image, Clinton sent a hit team to kill Rich. While many would love to believe this is the truth, there is absolutely no evidence that proves this is what actually happened. 

Let’s take a step back and look at the evidence. First of all the murder happed around 4 A.M., no one is meeting at this hour, especially the FBI. At the time of the alleged robbery, Rich was on the phone with his girlfriend and she has told authorities that she knew nothing about an FBI informant meeting or of Rich doing anything suspicious. She claims to have heard some noise and that Rich told her he would call her back. Later she would find out that he was shot and killed. 

Also, the fact that Rich is only 27 years old would lead a person to believe that it is very unlikely that Rich would have any information that could bring down Clinton. His position at the DNC is not the type that would have access to confidential and sensitive information. The smoking gun of evidence is the fact that their have been plenty of other robberies in the area. Snopes has even dedicated a complete rundown of how this theory is untrue. 

Despite all the evidence against the conspiracy theory, several websites continued to report it. WhatDoesItMean.com published an extensive report about how the DNC staffer was a victim of a hit team sent by Clinton. They claim that this couldn’t of been a robbery gone wrong.

“If it was a robbery – it failed because he still has his watch, he still has his money – he still has his credit cards, still had his phone so it was a wasted effort except we lost a life,” said Rich’s father, Joel Rich.

While you might think just these conspiracy theory sites are the only one breathing any life into this story, there is one public figure that is stepping forward.  Julian Assange of WikiLeaks spoke about Rich’s murder. Suggesting that Rich was killed because of political reasons, Assange implies it could of been because Rich was an FBI informant or because he was a possible source for the massive DNC email leak.

“WikiLeaks never sits on material. Whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks,” Assange said in an interview with the Dutch television program Nieuwsuur. “There’s a 27-year-old who works for the DNC who was shot in the back, murdered, just a few weeks ago, for unknown reasons as he was walking down the streets in Washington.” 

When asked if Rich was indeed a WikiLeaks source, Assange refused to comment. 

As if that wasn’t enough to fuel the rumor, WikiLeaks then tweeted that they were offering a $20,000 reward to anyone with information about Rich’s murder.
