On Thursday night (October 13) former Canadian Federal Cabinet Minister and more recent Alberta Premier Jim Prentice was killed in a small plane crash  shortly after taking off from an airport in British Columbia. (The plane had three other passengers aboard – one of them was Ken Gellatly, the father-in-law of one of Prentice’s daughters.)  The plane went down while flying from Kelowna, British Columbia to Springbank Airport near Calgary, Alberta.
