Sometimes I think I will find all the answers just by cooking something. Often, when I have a lot on my mind, I am pulled to the kitchen and lose myself in the cooking process. I find the act of taking something and combining it with other “somethings” completely soothing and comforting. In the kitchen most things start with a question and, hopefully, by the end, there is an answer that makes sense and is delicious.

I wish it was that easy outside the kitchen.

I do much better when the steps are clear and I can go from A to B to C. The whole “A, B, C” thing has served me pretty well up until this point.

But then something unexpected happened.

A wonderful and happy something.

The jolt has propelled me to the kitchen and I’ve been very busy working through all the questions and trying to find the answers. Now I have a fridge full of tasty stuff, but the answers I really need are still pending.

I’ve decided to employ a new strategy made famous by Bobby McFerrin…

“Don’t worry, be happy.”

It’s really hard not to worry, Bobby…

…but, I will try.
