Back to School: Beating the Sack-Lunch Drab

Here’s how the school year starts for us:

New clothes – Check

New shoes – Check

New backpack – Check

New hairstyle – Check

New lunch box – Check

A variety of meals – Wait a minute! Children need variety in their lunch boxes just as much as we do, right? So where do the new ideas come from that fit into the healthy spectrum and contain little-to-no preservatives, cover all nutritional needs, and taste good?

Within a few weeks of school starting, my oldest son is begging me to eat school lunches for the desserts. As much as he loves healthy foods, seeing all those kids scarf up cakes, cookies, and sugar-filled treats makes his boring sack lunch – boring. This year, my check list looks a little different – partially in thanks to great companies looking out for the health of children with organic, non-GMO products that excite them! As an added benefit, I’ll be bringing you healthy foods and meal ideas that are just as exciting as ripping open a bag of potato chips or seeing cookies at the bottom of the sack.
