Norfolk, VA – U.S. Marshals tracked down and arrested Demond White, 29, near Baltimore yesterday afternoon. White, a known Bloods gang member, was wanted in connection to a 2015 armed robbery of a 7-11 convenience store. Upon arrest, White provided a false name to the Marshals but was immediately identified using fingerprint technology.
Around 3:00 am on October 5, 2015, it is alleged that White took part in robbing the 7-11 located at 2325 Sewells Point road at gunpoint. On July 26, 2016, multiple arrest warrants were issued by Norfolk for White’s arrest in relation to this incident. White was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony, and use or display firearm in commission of a felony (three counts). The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force was immediately asked to assist in locating White. After following up on multiple leads, investigators determined that White had likely fled the Hampton Roads area.
Earlier this week, U.S. Marshals in Norfolk contacted the U.S. Marshals in Baltimore with information that White was in their area. Yesterday, the Baltimore-based U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested White outside of a Motel 6 located in the 5000 block of Raynor Avenue, in Linthicum Heights. The known Bloods gang member provided a fake name to the Marshals. White’s attempt to fool law enforcement was short lived—U.S. Marshals fingerprinted White on scene and instantly confirmed his identity.
White is being held at the Baltimore Central Booking Intake Center awaiting return to Norfolk.
The U.S. Marshals-led Fugitive Task Force consists of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals, Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office, Newport News Police Department, Portsmouth Police Department and Norfolk Police Department. The main objective of the task force is to seek out and arrest violent offenders with outstanding federal and state warrants.
