North Carolina Double Homicide Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force

York, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced that the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force arrested Kareem Henderson, 34, in Chambersburg.

On May 5, 2017 authorities in North Carolina obtained an arrest warrant charging Henderson with two counts of first degree murder. It is alleged that Henderson shot and killed his two victims in April of 2016. U.S. Marshals in Greensboro, NC worked with authorities to develop information as to his whereabouts. An investigative lead was sent to Pennsylvania to assist in the investigation.

Today, U.S. Marshals and its task force partners located and arrested Henderson without incident. Henderson was located hiding in a residence on Garber Street in Chambersburg. Henderson was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings and extradition back to North Carolina.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “Along with our law enforcement partners it’s the Marshals Services duty to ensure those charged with violent crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that the victims’ family will find some measure of comfort knowing the suspect in this case will face justice.”

The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with officers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Harrisburg Bureau of Police, York County District Attorney’s Office, York County Sheriff’s Office, Chambersburg Police Department, Lower Paxton Police Department, Swatara Township Police Department, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole and the Franklin County Drug Task Force.
