How Do You Make Your Grass Grow?

Our yard needs help.  In a major major way.  I know that we got more rain last year than usual, but I also think that the fact that we didn’t fertilize our lawn last year could have contributed to the excessive amount of sloppiness back there.  The thing is, the front lawn is pretty soft as well.  Two summers ago, we did fertilize the lawn, mostly to get rid of the dandelions (oh I HATE dandelions!) and we didn’t have nearly as big of a water problem.  I plan on fertilizing this year, to try to see if it helps in any way in the back yard, and I know it’ll help our lawn look more lovely this year in the front.
