St. Patrick's Day Craft: Lucky Clover Pendant Necklace

I was always the kid in school who got pinched on St. Patrick’s Day because I wasn’t wearing any green. Maybe that’s why I always like to send my girls off to school on St. Patty’s with a little token of love and luck.

I must admit, I felt pretty darn lucky when the sample pack of dried flowers that I ordered for my Pressed Flower Easter Eggs turned out to contain three 4-leaf clovers! I knew right away what I would make…

They were SO easy to make and didn’t cost a pot of gold either.

DIY Lucky Clover Pendant Necklace

Time: approx. 5 minutes

Cost: approx. $3.00

1″ Circle Bezel Pendant Tray
1 1″ Clear Glass Cabochon
1 Chain
Luck or Lucky dictionary page (print for free HERE)
Cardstock
Pressed 4-leaf clover (Here’s my SOURCE)
Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
Small paintbrush

I purchased a set that included 5 of each (bezel, cabochon and chain) on Etsy for $10 including shipping.

Step 1: Print out a “lucky” dictionary background on cardstock (regular printer paper should work too). Place a glass cabochon over the area you’d like it to cover, then trace with a pencil. Cut inside the pencil line.

Step 2: Do a “dry fit” with the bezel, paper and cabochon to make sure it lines up and looks the way you like.

Step 3: Brush a small amount of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic inside the bezel tray (both the bottom on sides).

Step 4: Set the paper in place. Gently brush with Dimensional Magic, so as not to smear the ink. Cut stem from the clover. Lightly touch the paintbrush to one of the petals of your clover to pick up and set in place on the tacky paper. Gently brush a coat of Dimensional Magic on top of the clover.

Step 5: Brush the flat side of the clear glass cabochon with Dimensional Magic, then set in place on top of the clover. Press firmly to work out any air bubbles. Set aside to dry.

Step 6: Thread chain through the bail. Wear or give as a gift.
