New dining chairs

Our new dining chairs finally arrived! The chairs are from Structube, and while they weren’t in-store yet when I visited, I decided to take a chance and order them anyway, and I’m so glad I did. They’re comfortable, they look great, and the price ($79) is pretty great too.

I ordered four chairs (they have to be ordered in sets of 2), and our red bench can be pulled up to the table for extra seating if needed. I wasn’t sure about the style – can you do a farmhouse table with mid-century modern chairs? – but I decided to stick with my tried and true rule to just buy what I love. If you’ve ever read the comments on an Apartment Therapy post, you know that someone will always dislike what you’ve done, so best to focus on what you think looks good and go from there.

With the exception of the flooring, which we’d like to replace at some point, this room is done for now (oh, and I still need to find a light for that wall). We spend a lot of time in here, so it makes my heart happy that it’s looking pretty good. We’ve been gathering materials to reno our powder room, which is off of this room, and painting the kitchen cabinets is also on my list – we’ll see which one happens first.
