Two new low pressure areas formed in Atlantic
A trough of low pressure (Invest 97L) is extending from southeastern Bahamas northward over the western Atlantic for a couple hundred miles. The system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorm activity. Upper-level winds are forecast to become less conducive for development during the next day or two as the disturbance moves west-northwestward at about 16 km/h (10 mph). This system has a low chance (10 percent) of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Another broad area of low pressure (Invest 98L) and a tropical wave is located about 1500 miles east-southeast from the Lesser Antilles. The system is producing an elongated area of showers and thunderstorms over the tropical Atlantic. If the system develop it is expected to be slow as it moves westward or west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph during the next couple of days.
