“Quake from Hell Soon”? Probably Not! It Should Fit Passover as the Time of Judgment, Exodus 12:12

“The day of the Lord” is the apocalyptic period linked to an earthquake in Joel 2:10,11; Zeph 1:7,10; Zech 14:1,5, and it’s the sudden destruction that initiates the day of the Lord in 1Thess 5:2,3.

“One shall be taken the other left” is the famous phrase used to support a rapture until it’s compared with Luke 17:36 where those taken become dinner for vultures. Christ also linked “Watch!” with it.

“Watch” is translated from the Greek word, gregoreo, meaning tobe awake. If this were a rapture, it shouldn’t matter if we were awake, but this is about something else!

We can’t be awake every night, but Passover was the only night in the year when everyone was to be awake. Exodus 12:10. It commemorated the greatest event in Old Testament history, the deliverance of a million Israelites from the strongest nation on earth.

Passover then became prophetic with the death of a lamb for the greatest event of the New Testament, and a time when Judgment fell on the Lamb as foretold in Isaiah 53:3-7 after a Jewish prophet announced “the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world,” John 1:29.

But while Christ fulfilled the sacrifice part of Passover, it was also the time of judgment and we should consider “watching” as he asked his followers to do on the eve of Passover when they slept.

When Christ said, You dont know the day or hour, it was an idiom. “Know” is from the Greek word, oida, meaning to be aware, perceive, understand. Christ was saying, You don’t understand and each time He said it, He gave an example that fit the provision in the law for a late Passover “as in the days of Noah” when the Flood came with Passover timing, but in the 2^nd spring month.

Noah entered the ark on the 10^th day, the same day the sacrifice was selected in Exodus 12:3. Outside of Noah’s family, no one else accepted his invitation to enter the ark, so they were selecting themselves to be a sacrifice. God had a provision, but it was rejected.

We don’t have to kill lambs at Passover because Christians believe Christ fulfilled that part of it, but watching [being awake and praying] is enjoined on believers as a protection. “If the goodman had known, he would have watched, and not suffered his house to be broken by the thief.” Matt 24:43.

Christ tells us, “If you don’t watch, I will come on you as a thief.” Rev 3:3. Anything huge enough to have apocalyptic significance should fit biblical imagery and timing. Christians should consider watching (being awake and praying) as suggested by the information at http://MayJudgmentDay.com
