Thank you for the video updates. My husband I usually find them informative. Although we would like to make a slight correction. We don’t believe the tremors at mammoth lakes is causing anything at Shasta. Mammoth lakes is just south of Yosemite national park whereas mt Shasta is north of Tahoe. Both good videos but the places are not that close.
Have you ever seen the movie (alien verses predater) if so remember the pyramid once activated there was NO STOPPING IT….the tectonic plates are the same ! Until there in the right place in time they will continue shifting. As the people in the movie all mankind can do is stay out of the way ! The plate will push into the west causing eruptions making its way to yellowstone… Once yellowstone is pierced the plates will stop…….safe journeys and love / light to ALL !

There is a caldera there. It’s a smaller ‘Supervolcano’. Not as big as Yellowstone. There has been a lot of activity at Mammoth Lakes for quite some time, and little to no attention has been put on it. But, this is the most I’ve ever seen. If you have Google Earth, take a look at it, and you will see where the water is red is some areas. Pretty telling. But, the government does a good job, NOT putting attention where they don’t want it. If everybody is focused on Yellowstone, almost NOBODY is focused elsewhere. I told my husband, “Watch it be the Long Valley Caldera that blows, and NOBODY was expecting it.” That was about a month or two ago. I could be wrong, but, nevertheless, I guess we sit back and watch the show.

Thank God I don’t live in this area, or Yellowstone. I am too smart for that anyway. The sad thing is that, most people are too smart for that. So if you live near here, then you must be a chimp. Who cares if the damn thing blows? I would consider it a favor from nature, to wipe out that many stupid people. Please don’t run away, or move somewhere safer! Mary Greeley is an absolute idiot. Mount Shasta is in far Northern California, hundreds of miles away from Mammoth Lakes. The area just had a ton of rain over the weekend, plus a shrinking glacier due to three years of drought, and that’s the cause of the mudflow, not Mount Shasta getting ready to erupt. That second video is just stupid and demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of basic geography both by Due Diligence (for posting it) and Mary “read a story verbatim” Greeley.
The reality: Mammoth Lakes has been rising for some time, with periodic earthquake clusters. In the early 80′s, the USGS issued a low-level warning that drove tourists away, lowered real estate values, and wrecked the local economy–and nothing happened. Now, the USGS is much more cautious about issuing warnings publicly. Since that original mistake, Mammoth Lakes has had periodic earthquake swarms, but the best estimates are that it would need to rise a foot or more before being an eruption risk.
Meanwhile, armchair quarterbacks like Due Diligence spread the usual fear porn, making volcanic eruptions out of every earthquake swarm. While volcanic eruption prediction is not an exact science, odds are pretty good that if Mammoth Lakes were going to erupt, the USGS would issue a warning, not some armchair Before It’s News hack with a poor track record.
