This occurred from the opposite side of our Galaxy! And the Object, Magnetar “SGR1806″ is estimated to be only 12 miles in diameter yet is so dense, that a sugar cube’s worth of the stuff is reported to weigh approximately 100 MILLION TONS!
It is virtually inconceivable that something so small, relatively speaking, could release so much power, so far away, and send it around the assumedly “Black Hole” at the center of our galaxy, which, via “gravitational” lensing, may have caused it to reach earth with the relatively miniscule time disparity between the gravitational effects and gamma rays!
