Idaho Republicans Give Tax Breaks to Wealthy While Idaho School Districts beg to Raise Property Taxes to Make Up for Cuts in School Fundings

In a move typical of Idaho’s mostly Republican Legislature, tax cuts were given to the wealthiest Idahoans. This is shocking to the conscience due to the fact that in the past years of recession, Idaho has slashed funding to its schools.The education system is questionable at best in Idaho. In a recent study, Idaho ranked 48th out of the 50 states in  regards to the education system. The study also ranked Idaho as 48th in wages. 

 The cuts made recently by Idaho’s redneck legislature were all made at the expense of those least able to afford the cuts. Social Services were cut to mentally disabled people who depended upon funding to help them live independant lives. Many are now in group homes once again.

 The class size in Idaho is exploding at the seems, and teachers are leaving the state in record numbers, largely due to Tom Luna’s recent ‘education reforms’. The people were agains..t the so called reforms, yet in typical IDeeHoee fashion, the legislature ignored the voice of the people and passed the lunatic plan anyway.

Now after years of cuts to everything except the Idaho Prison System, who were mostly spared from the draconian cuts, the legislature in Idaho finds itself with a few extra dollars. Instead of putting the funding back into the schools and social services, the Republican syncophants decided to give the funds to the richest Idahoans in the form of tax cuts.

What is so sad is the fact that while the rich are getting tax cuts, the school districta are trying to get more levies on homeowners to make up for the budget cuts they suffered. Idaho has one of the highest property tax rates in ther country, but who cares!! Lets give the rich tax cuts. Only in Idaho, it is like bizarro world here with the Red Brigade running the show for the past 20 years. So unless you want the lowest wages in the country, or for your child to recieve the worst possible education in America…do not come to Idaho.
