The Evil Green Police

The “mountain police” (think “iceburg”) is a disparaging term that can be applied to any unlikely coalition of modern nations at the northernmost latitudes, bonding together for a common purpose, usually nefarious in nature.

• North Korea
• China, Russia
• Canada

The politics of these nations runs the leftist gamut from extreme communism to progressive socialism.

The Green Police

This new axis of evil is united in their denial of global warming. To them, global warming is not bad at all. Global warming means:

• milder winters
• longer growing seasons
• access to arctic shipping routes
• lebensraum

Add a common ideology in socialism to these powerful incentives and you have influence without equal in the whole world.

From Green to Black

Canada exemplifies how easy it is for an entire nation to transition from far-left environmental activism to far-left capitalist hatemongering.

The metamorphosis began with the discovery of the huge Hibernia oil fields off the coast of Newfoundland in the 1960s. Royalties from that single oilfield have funded the entire socialist welfare state of Canada ever since.

Now that shale oil has become a technologically feasible source of hydrocarbons Canada has gone from the greenest nation on Earth to the one with the largest per capita carbon footprint – because shale sands generate obscene amounts of pollution.

Where is all that shale oil going? To China, of course, via a pipeline across the U.S. heartland.

Greed as the Prime Directive

The Bergpolizei are not without their supporters in other nations.

• big business
• big oil
• conservatives

Pollution controls take profits from big businesses. So they’re global warming deniers. Big business depends on cheap Chinese labor to make money. So, what China talks, they walk.

Conservatives are historically pro-business. They hate anything that hurts the bottom line.

Big oil is actually the most civilized of the lot. They just find oil and take it out of the ground.

Conclusion

It’s practically a miracle that this evil coalition has managed to perpetrate the obvious symptoms of global warming into an international debate. It’s a sober testament to the fiscal resources at their disposal, is what it is. They have almost infinite resources plus the will and determination to use all this money; well, to destroy planet Earth.
