Integrity and truth are gone in this country, at least with respect to government honoring either.
The economy is in shambles yet government insists on telling us that we are in a recovery. Government statistics appear to be routinely manipulated in a fashion to make things look better than they are.
If there is a recovery (there is not!), it is the slowest and longest recovery in history. The recession was declared over in June of 2009. Why are we still recovering? Oh, that we were recovering!
As government’s scam and very existence becomes imperiled by deteriorating conditions, it and its allies in the media will bend whatever truth remains to fit the message they wish to convey. Under such conditions, facts are inconvenient things and easily dispensed with. That is the stage, I fear that we have now reached. The first casualty of any war is truth. The government is now at war with its people who no longer have any faith in its leadership.
We are close to the stage where government becomes the “cornered, wounded animal that will do anything … anything! … to survive.” When matters become existential for government, nothing will get in its way as it attempts to survive. More than the truth will then be murdered.
