http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-28/california-carbon-tax-would-be-first-at-the-gas-pump.html

So, you liked the low prices for gas did ya?  Well, beginning Jan. 1, 2015, California will be adding a “carbon tax” of between .15 to .75 cents per gallon to the price of fuel to the already collected total taxs of .68 cents/gal., depending on who’s report you want to believe.  The amount of tax you pay at the pump will depend on how much driving you do as well.  All of this is supposedly to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases contributing to “climate change”.

Is this the real reason the state of California, and other states, are now imposing the “carbon tax”?

“Poverty in the state is growing and money raised by the tax would be returned to low- and moderate-income working people via a federal tax credit, Steinberg said. It would also help plug funding shortfalls in public transit.”

Here’s another way the government is going to raise your taxes and their tax revenues. In 2016, an as yet unnamed city in California is going to start charging its citizens a “road tax” based on how many miles they commute. The planned tax would be .05/mile. This means if you drive 20 miles one way, and 20 miles back, without making any side trips of course, drivers would pay $2.00 to drive 40 miles. (.05 x 40 = 2.00) How are they going to track how many miles you drive? Smart highways, vehicles, and devices that track fuel consumption and miles driven, that’s how.

Carbon Tax is created by oil companies since oil companies own State of California. The winter and summer blend burns more gas and the gas is GMO from corn use as ethanol. This is the reason California has lowest MPG of gas. Burning more gas makes the air dirtier and stop signs at every intersection and long red lights makes the air dirtier.
