KingCast and Mortgage Movies Present: The Seattle Mortgage Economic Reality Summit (MERS).

This thread picks up on the older thread in which we addressed the City’s rejection of Marie McDonnell (2014 CV) and her reviews, regardless of her acumen. We are now working to bring her to Seattle on our own accord. The top video is my trailer for the December 13 Event at the scene of the 2013 Foreclosure and Underwater Home forum conceived by Yours Truly and several housing advocates and attorneys and attended by 6 of 8 Seattle City Council Candidates. The second video is the Seattle Project overview produced by Fred Popke and Marie McDonnell. The fact that the City refuses to fully embrace transparency is troubling: They requested confidentiality from their own consultant who was engaged to study public documents. They redlined her documents and would not allow her to simply state exactly what she stated to the Jury in Wolf. The Press Release is below and replicated in the comments at bottom.

This summit is an introductory event, open to all individuals and groups interested in learning more about the mortgage crisis and what can be done to mitigate the detrimental effects it has had on our local economy, housing, homelessness, family structures and education.

The Mortgage Crisis has had a direct impact on Washington State housing, property values, rental rates, homelessness and education. 

Some laws and policies have been put in place in an attempt to address issues, but many laws are inadequate or not being enforced.  More legislation needs to be implemented.  Additional assistance needs to be given to struggling borrowers or displaced homeowners.

If you are a policy maker or journalist wanting to gain a better understanding of the issues, a member of a non-profit or faith based organization assisting those most affected, a troubled homeowner suffering alone in silence or just a concerned citizen trying to find out what can be done to help, please come and join us for an honest and open discussion aimed at bringing about positive change.

Marie McDonnell of McDonnell Property Analytics will be this session’s keynote speaker.

McDonnell Property Analytics was recently commissioned by the City of Seattle to conduct a review of mortgage documents filed in the King County public records to determine if the documents filed were in accordance with Washington State law.

McDonnell Property Analytics has provided its expertise in landmark foreclosure and mortgage fraud cases across the nation (see examples below) and has leveraged this knowledge with systems capable of analyzing very large amounts of case files/documents.

Ms. McDonnell will be sharing the results of this audit. You will be shocked by the findings.

After the keynote presentation, various groups will present the reality of the rippling effect these mortgage practices have had on the economies of our local communities.

You’ll be left with some practical steps you can take to assist in making a difference.
