Strategic Defense System

The series of events that are unfolding today in light of the recent remarks by Donald Trump is serious cause to set off alarm bells. At no other time in recent memory has the world been so close to setting off a global catastrophe. The crisis in Ukraine has exploded to a point that the world that we know now will be forever altered if we continue on the course of action that the Biden Administration has undertaken.

When Trump expressed his concern over the Ukraine crisis, he mentioned something Ronald Ragan once sought to achieve with his Strategic Defense Initiative. Defense capabilities that would protect the United States from incoming ballistic missiles.  To date Israel is the one country that has a fully operating defense system shielding that nation. We should have followed Israel’s response to defense capabilities and yet we have and continued to ignore the real possibility of armed conflicts that could spread to the US being very susceptible to incoming ballistic missiles.

What the Biden Administration has done by supporting Ukraine with military hardware and billions of taxpayer dollars has created the biggest international blunders we have seen. It has now become necessary that NATO, the European Union and the United States understand that the Ukraine President is doing no justice to the citizens of Ukraine by not negotiating with President Putin.

The United States must broker a negotiation with Russia and Ukraine first a truce of hostilities and then work out an amicable agreement between Russia and Ukraine. We are seeing many other nations intent on using this crisis to encourage more sentiment toward Russia. And that only precludes more difficulties in reaching a peaceful truce and an agreement to end this major crisis.

Our whole approach to the Ukraine crisis has been one blunder after another. It is imperative that the United States puts in play what Ronald Ragan intended and what Trump recently said about a National Strategic Defense System similar to what Israel already has put in place. And if the Biden Administration continues in his approach to the Ukraine crisis this nation is in grave jeopardy.
