Unrepresented Republicans

When Republican legislators in many states attack SNAP programs, Food Stamps, that millions of Americans through no fault of their own rely on for basic nutrition are discriminating just because of their financial and economic condition. We have to remember that in order to obtain a seat in any legislative body whether in state houses or Congress requires financial resources far beyond the reach of most Americans. In fact, every elected legislator already has the financial means to buy whatever food they want. Too many of these Republicans have no idea what it is actually like to go hungry, be homeless, or live in substandard housing that makes the SNAP program a lifeline.

The United States actually has the financial capabilities to increase the SNAP program, Social Security, and provide Universal Health Care for all Americas. What keeps this nation in debt are not the entitlements, those safety nets that millions of Americans rely on to keep them from falling into abject poverty but the exporting trillions of US taxpayer dollars overseas, the unconstitutional Federal Reserve and the continuation of Republican Regan economics {the Trickle-Down theory.]

To date not only state legislators but every member of Congress has the financial means to get elected and serve, They already have the financial resources far beyond the reach of millions of working-class Americans. And that’s not to mention while in office they are privy to so many extra financial perks that puts our elected officials as unrepresentative stewards of the American citizen.

In this day and age no one should be without the basic necessities of life. Six essentials of human existence today, adequate fresh clean water, proper sanitation, proper clothes, nutritious food, a home to call their own, and clean renewable energy. We have it within our power to transform the world from the continuing struggles of today to one of peace and harmony between man and nature.

Believe it or not our planet, nature itself, already provides many of the essential elements for human coexistence. We may not be aware that our oceans provide food sources to many haven’t even considered. The harvesting of seaweed has already sparked a growing food source is just one example of the abundance of nutritious food sources found in our oceans. When it comes to renewable clean energy the oceans too provide a source of renewable energy by the movement of tides to generate electricity.

Instead of doing what is right and good for the American public where the majority of the population are struggling to put food on the table and a roof over their head our Republican legislators are doing their best to keep so many from reaching that ladder of upward mobility. If we allow many legislatures dictate what people can or cannot buy by being in a financial situation that makes SNAP a real lifeline will be just as bad as the atrocities being played out on our city streets and overseas.
