Death Care

For over 66 million Americans the COLA in Social Security payments will automatically be negated because of the rising cost of Medicare Part B premiums. The cost will be substantially more than the COLA adjustment for 2024. This comes at a time when the inflation rates have kept millions of Americans and the most vulnerable seniors at risk of falling deeper down into the abyss of financial and economic insecurity. This proves once again that our congress cares more about international crisis than the ones brewing right here in America.

Many people oppose Universal Health Care, but the bottom line is that the billions of dollars being spent overseas could be far better served in securing our own financial and public health here in the US. The biggest obstacle in implementing Universal Health Care is Congress continued garnishment of the Health Insurance industry and the pharmaceutical conglomerates funneling millions of dollars into the campaign coffers of public servants mainly congressmen and senators.

When Obama Care was passed in 2010 the Obama Administration cowardly succumbed to the Health Insurance industry in not following through on what Senator Kennedy was trying to pass. And that was Universal Health Care. and not what is occurring today. The existing health insurance industry continues draining the financial means of millions of Americans especially our seniors in paying for health insurance.

The pandemic made billionaires at the expense of the public. It has always been the public who have suffered when governments react to any crisis, especially here in the US.  And this past pandemic was one of the most debilitating health and financial crises in recent times. All this while the responses by governments set the stage for the Pharmaceutical and health Insurance industries to reap financial dividends far beyond expectations.

The efforts of many proponents like Senator Bernie Sanders and other progressive members of Congress have always failed to override the financial strangle hold that the health insurance industry and big Pharma have over Congress. We have to remember that ever since The Affordable health Care Act was passed has already kept millions of Americans from financially being able to afford any kind of heath care let alone health insurance. 

So, when congress passes the rising cost of health insurance to the public by increasing Medicare Part B premiums, they willingly put our seniors deeper in financial distress because of their failure to ease the inflation rates that have kept the cost of living continuing to rise. We have to remember that the US is the only industrialize nation that does not guarantee healthcare for all its citizens. Another facet of American life is that our government will not implement a policy that guarantees fresh clean water as a right instead of a privilege. In both instances healthcare and fresh clean water are privileges in which we pay for. And in many cases millions of Americans are faced with inadequate finances in which to have access to either health care of fresh clean water.

With the continuing crisis in Europe and now in the Mid-East that have far reaching implication for our future it is imperative that our government provide for all Americans access to Universal Health Care and Fresh clean water so that we will have the capacity to ease not only the many internal crisis but become a major catalyst for easing the many international situations from spilling over into a full-blown catastrophe.

Until the public acknowledges the fact that our congress and present Administration has become so ineffectual at solving any sort of crisis whether it is domestic or international the United States will continue show the rest of the world how inadequate we are at caring for our citizens. In the same light our government has only become a tool for the wealthy elite and not a working democratic government of the people and by the people
