There are so many websites, bloggers with opinions that all say a collapse is imminent. the only differentiator is in how far down the toilet we will go…. here’s one more man’s opinion.

I hate it when people use the word suffering in “biblical proportions”. People suffered during the times of the bible. They didn’t have flat screens and couches. Thye had no running water or electrical power. In the depression the government caved and had guys planting trees for wages. Our government is going to have to do something quick or tey are going to have a lot of extremely pissed of people to deal with.

Suffering will be a very common word once the money is gone. Many people know that our system is dying but they’ll react only once their money is vaporised.
Try to imagine a wealthy person suddenly getting broke!
I mean, like real broke,… not a penny left.
I am not kidding you here! I am a professional stock market technical analyst.
That day is coming in a not so distant future.
Technically, I see it in less than 5 years from now.

People are fully capable of cooperating, not only to sustain but to improve their standard of living. Through cooperation, primarily focused in the exchange of goods and services, humanity has advanced from a condition of surviving in caves to that of enjoying all that we have today.

To facilitate cooperation between the multitude of various actors having different skills, a medium of exchange became necessary and precious metals were accepted because they naturally met certain criteria desirable in a such a medium.

Then, in spite of our proven abilities and fantastic success, we bacame utter fools. We became convinced that we could no longer cooperate to produce the goods and services we desired unless we were supplied with a new medium of exchange; one created out of nothing and loaned to us at interest by hand full of people who also controlled its value. We neglected the debt aspect involved here and believed that, with a new and unlimited supply of this exchange medium, our ability to produce and prosper would be equally unlimited.

Thus, under force of law, we became obliged to participate in a cruel, malicious, system designed to mercilessly put people under ever expanding and inextinguishable debt which only grew deeper as we produced more goods and services and borrowed ever more of the new medium at interest to facilitate those exchanges. Obviously, such a system can only be sustained as long as the ever increasing debt burden can be borne, and then it all collapses to destroy our wealth and even our ability to produce. Currently, all of the advanced nations on earth who have accepted this monstrosity are on the verge of bankrupcy and economic collapse.

That’s the history, so what are the consequence of our foolishness? This is essentially the question asked by Greg when he prompted Mr. Mannarino to.. “Describe what the world looks like when money is dead”

It was a great question, but I am puzzled by Mr Mannarinos’ brief and measured responses:

“When the debt bubble bursts, the entire debt becomes payment in full…” and “When this system collapses…people are not going to be able to acquire the resources that they need to live”

I suppose Mr. Mannarion is alluding to hyperinflation here but it would have been nice had he provided more details regarding his thoughts how this scenario will play out and on how he thinks we can best respond to the situations that arise.

Having nourishment, gold and guns speaks of operating defensively in survival mode. Are we that helpless? I think not. We prospered once without using government decreed fiat “money”, and we can do it again. What will it take? That’s what I would like to know.

@Frosty: There will be a period of transition from “Money” to a “No Money” type society. And there will be ALOT of spoiled, ignorant, demanding, bullying thug/gang types who will revel & thrive in this transitional state as they feast on the panicking, unprepared, scared and starving masses during the initial 2 months…and seize power…or so they think.

      Months 1:
People won’t do much during initial 2-3 days out of confusion. Folks will live is disillusionment that things will “Get Better” soon. However, as unprepared family pantries start running out food & water after 3-14 days…they take to the streets begging & breaking into homes, stores and regular “shops.” The sickly, infirmed or critical health individuals start failing as resources/caregivers fail. Breakdown of all basic & emergency services occurs as the “system” is overwhelmed and shuts down. Remember, there’s no “real” money to pay workers… as systems grow more dependent on “Volunteers.”
Death toll rising daily as those not fit, ready or willing to survive rise… suicides & hopelessness reign as the new reality set in…violence, dysentary & dehydration kill the rest. Churches, food pantries and shelters are now closed / gone / open sporadically after being overrunned by the sheer magnitude of need. Gov’t is no where to be seen with help or relief. The politicians who caused this mess are GONE. The bodies continue to be buried en masse wherever feasible if heavy duty equipment is not available.
Hungry gangs & wandering groups of “desperate” people pose threats to local communities. Local communities start forming “Security Perimeters” to protect their small piece of society, sharing resources (Google: Stone Soup Story (See YT Video)), caring and helping one another as they organize “Salvage/Scavenging” runs to locate resources to care for their community… and keep strangers out.

      Months 2-12:
More prepared family pantries start running out now. Dysentary, dehydration, poisoning and minimal IMMUNITY due to overuse of antibiotics leave many folks vulnerable… and start showing up in greater numbers. However, more prepared folks have fared better being in general good health at time of the crash. Folks are adjusting slowly to the new reality & challenges once taken for granted…like not going places… and dealing with the deafening “Quietness.” Many homes are now abandoned or burned down. Company doors are closed. Cars are abandoned everywhere. But many small communities are still pulling together to REBUILD. CHURCH / BIBLE / FAITH now play a HUGE ROLE in daily life gives each day meaning, purpose and strength to move through & make sense of the tragedy or madness.

Small communities have started organizing a new governing system which may vary from town-to-town. People start learning new roles to: clean water; handle waste correctly; cooking; hunting locate, salvage, grow, prepare, defend, build, manage, fix… resources for everybody’s benefit. EVERYBODY IS IMPORTANT to the success of these tasks… the lazy are asked to leave. Thieves are summarily shot. Motto: “If you are not for us, you are against us.”

Year 1 & Ongoing: Folks, Families & Communities with access to clean water, raise gardens & farmland all cooperating survive & thrive in this new reality. Selfish, unprepared folks understand “EVERYBODY COUNTS” and is NEEDED for SURVIVAL. Those who don’t understand this are doomed. Motivated folks PRODUCE MORE than they consume. Without a moral thread to guide them all towards the same goal… many communities will crumble into selfish hoarding. Gangs continue to be a problem to be “dealt with severely” since their goal is to control through terror, destruction and theft.

In the end, good parents will be setting aside knowledge, resources and a plan to help your children survive because… let’s face it… our chances aren’t so good. And those children who refuse to listen & learn this survival knowledge now… WILL DIE LATER.

Good luck to all… and btw… this is a historically accurate & perhaps an overly optimistic overview because I know human nature. Unlike the 1930′s Great Depression… though not perfect, faith & morality in the way folks treated & helped each other out made it possible to survive it at a lower technology level. Today… we have little or no respect for neither God nor our fellow man. So, we don’t even have faith or morality to hold us all together… therefore, sadly, that leaves only deadly force to maintain peace.

If you don’t believe me… study New Orleans (post Katrina), the LA Riots, Greece, Europe… where folks went wild out of anger, frustration and desperation. -Good luck…

If you are not on good terms with Our Blessed Lord, you may want to consider your position.
Today, when you look around the world, read the newspaper, turn on the TV; there’s one thing that hits you right between the eyes– the world, the Church, mankind, is going through one of the most dangerous and difficult times in all of history. Sin is running rampant. Evil is in. Good is out. War, fear, uncertainty and terror are the commonplace realities of our day-! It seems it must be worse today than in the times of Noah…and we all know what happened then.
