Highlighting the general scarcity of oil worldwide, major producers have continued to invest heavily in off-shore drilling despite a lag in demand created by a wide spread economic slowdown, Rigzone reports. Two years after the disastrous Deep Water Horizon spill, new deep sea drilling contracts are becoming longer and more expensive. Deep sea tech companies are once again in high demand as the battle to secure off-shore oil revs back up.
