Might be happening in the political/financial corrupt USA but things are way more accountable here in Australia. It is often stated on Tv that our financial system is far better than the USA. We don`t have these ponzi schemes, mortgage swaps & paper bonds that are worthless. The Chinese will eventually want to cash in these bonds. Your politicans at any point in time, from say 1910 on should have abolshed the Federal Reserve which is NOT part of the Treasury & seems to have never been brought to account for their carry ons. Aboloshing the Gold Standard led to bokers becomming banks & all sorts of disasters since. The U.S Govt. made laws that were detrimental to the economy, created an incorrect dollar value. This forcing other countries to trade in US dollars has helped the military to no end. Your unemployment rate is today being artifically kept low to save the dollar. The Government made laws that ALLOWED CORRUPTION by Politicans & financial institutions & companies & who is going to make the law makers pay for their ineptitude & blatant corruption. Obama won`t as he is continuing it on like Bush & Clinton.. Until eventually, everyone will see the mess cannot be fixed and it all goes to custard.. Then all hell will break loose. The fighting will then begin.. The control will start.. Camps will open to control people.. Then perhaps a civil war erupts and America goes back to the 1880`s. Perhaps the Amish are right… A.J. Technically, she is correct. Anything you are trading that is NOT actually a product of your labor, is a fiat currency. We have come to define “fiat currency” as the printed money of governments. It can be gold since it is used as a fiat of your actual labor. What she needs to add is that it is the longest lasting fiat currency in the history of man AND it is also a hard asset since it can be used for many various tangible things which cannot be easily destroyed.
