What are these proponents of the precious metal haven proposing? Are we to expect that after they crash the economy and paper currencies, that they will just drive over to Krogers and buy their groceries with their gold bars?
Possibly. When your paper money is loosing value due to inflation because, in essence, it’s intrinsic value is zero, what are you going to use? In that sort of scenario, toilet paper has more value. For nearly 6000 years precious metals have held value regardless of the fiat system of the day. Do you really think that the last 100 years is some sort of “enlightenment” from that thinking?
However, I don’t think it will collapse overnight. Capital controls will be instituted via your digital money and the old stalwart paper money will be a thing of the past. The ultimate fiat system, digital transactions, will be the final monetary system instituted. Even now, I see 8 out of 10 people use their plastic to pay for things at the store rather than use paper money. Digital money will be preferred medium of exchange by the government because you don’t really own it. Just ask the Cypriots.
Then you will be presented with two options; trust your money to the “system” via digital accounts or personally hold your wealth in tangible assets. The former will initially get benefits for going that route and the latter will be penalized for their “selfishness” and have to use a barter system. At that point, gold and silver will have to be used.
Anyone going in for ‘digital’ money deserves exactly what they are going to get. For now, Stop buying from big corporations. People continue to Stupidly pay for liar tv, continue to buy poison gmos, too stupid to look up and see they’ve being poisoned with chemtrails so monsanto can take over the food supply. People keep stupidly buying their ‘tech’ when all tech corps are part of this. They keep buying bogus over priced real estate. Stop feeding the big corporations, grow some food.
Most of the proponents that you speak of are selling paper backed by gold(ect). The answer to your question is yes. In olden days a small vial of silver powder could be traded for food. It was only when the Feds got involved that the value got strange. A rich family can dump their gold on the market and devalue it, but if they do not trade with efficiency then they would be apt to stay out of such drastic measures. If a rich family can lend gold to a country …?
It’s like I said before when I realized over a decade ago that the FED and central banks were privately owned.
It’s nothing more than a group of families, extended families, friends, and extended friends printing up money for themselves.
I think it’s to the point, and always has been, where if any one of the elites needed a few million to go play with, they just stopped by the office and electronically entered in $$$$ off the books into their own accounts to go play with.
They can do it with a smart phone. It’s not like they have to worry about NSA.

In the last decade i watched as booze was allowed to be sold in our Supermarkets (whatever those are in American, large-ish food and light consumables stores here in NZ) the toxic, depressant beverage has near taken over a third of the available space.
I’m not tee-total, mine’s a Wild Turkey, imported if i can get it. Neat chased by ice cold Waikato Beer: um; every year or so i’ll have a couple shots just to remind me what it was all about, poisoning oneself.
So i’m not the only one who notices that the food chain is in a bit of bother? How come we use more bytes worrying about the “about to happen any day now, and we really mean it this time, global financial collapse”, HAARP and or Nibiru???
They’re certainly trying to take things that way, which is why planting at least some food is important. No excuse for not putting in a couple fruit trees etc. Times will be tough, we can at least do a few things like plant food, stop paying for liar tv etc.
You make another good point on the drugging. It’s one thing to have an occasional sip or what have you, another to be doping with that or bogus pharma drugs every day.
Just have to add SOAP to that short list. No sense in having just the basics if you’re sick.

You know, it’s too bad that’s happening. But I’m getting less concerned about that and have some questions. Like why are they in the military killing innocent people. Are they the ones droning in foreign countries and going to be droning US citizens? Why aren’t they protesting the NDAA or chemtrails. Do they support the Constitution? Or are they just fine setting up the bogus war state here on US soil as long as they get a paycheck. Are we supposed to care about the ‘troops’ in the face of all of that? Again it’s unfortunate, but we have a lot of things to be concerned about like the US military murdering millions of innocent people over the years. The system won’t collapse. The dollar may, only to be replaced by another fiat currency. The ‘problems’ in the market aren’t effecting the rich, because the problems aren’t designed to strip them of their assets, they’re designed to strip the birgeoning middle classes in both the west and developing economies of the ‘stuff’ they have accumlated so they have to work to regain the assets they have lost well into their dotage; they need to make the middle class poor, so as they aspire to be the middle class again by working, spending and consuming.
