However, what makes you think China will just go away from that amount of money due?
What will stop them from taking oil, coal, and even land?
Isn’t fiat money based on trust in it’s perceived value? Perhaps the debt is a fiat debt.
I’ve often pondered whether the numbers on all this debt is merely a fantasy created out of thin air just like the amounts are merely typed into a ledger. The immensity of it is awful — so we’re told — hanging over our heads like the Sword of Damocles.

without further effort.
#2 definition of Fiat: an authoritative determination: dictate
#3 definition of Fiat: an authoritative or arbitrary order: decree
Someone decides how big the debt is and by decree sets a fantastic amount that boggles the mind.
It would be just as easy for that someone to say, Viola` — all gone. While we’re focused on the great and terrible debt, we don’t see the levers creating the illusion.
What if they threw a collapse and nobody lost because we found a better way of doing business?
It’ll never happen.
