SSRI’s are far more dangerous and likely handed out in greater amounts than pharmaceutical opiates, I can speak from experience once on a high enough dose individuals become psychopathic in many respects but also extremely compliant and suggestible. They’ll do anything told to do regardless of pain which you can choose to ignore on these drugs, danger, or risk of injury. I spent a few years in that boat and it’s been twice as many trying to get back to normal which probably isn’t going to happen at this point. But I’m far better off now then on this line of drug. Turns out ssri’s are likely one of the most addictive on the planet with withdrawals that often exceed alcohol withdrawal dt’s and create permanent psychotic impairment as evidenced by the rising numbers of psychotic conditions beginning in about the year 1989 one year after the release of Prozac. Pharmaceutical companies changed the definition of addiction to make their ssri’s more marketable, and since nothing beyond subjective evidence is known about their effects on the human body, Dr’s are told to diagnose any newly developed mental illness as previously existing and having had been masked by either the depression or anxiety that the ssri’s successfully treated. Sounds good until it’s you or a loved one, psychotic illness is far more debilitating than any anxiety or depressive disorder, it could not be masked by either, but you can’t prove that in court yet.
