Triple Threat…

This coming week should be very interesting. We have three large items on the agenda. The first question: was today’s “glitch” or “upgrade” to the EBT (if this were 1935 they would all be in a soup line) System merely a test to see how the people would react?

On Thursday October 17 there is a convergence of three. Personally, I believe the number 3 is very powerful and can have a major impact on individuals, families, communities or nations. The Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill which will be conducted in FEMA Region X which includes Alaska, Washington State, Oregon and Idaho, will commence at 10:17am local time and the good people of these states are asked to stop, drop and cover or as it was said the in 1950′s propaganda films “duck and cover“.

On the same day, October 17, Quantum Dawn 2, Cyber Attack Bank Drill, with more than 1,000 banks participating. This “exercise” will be conducted across the country. Different cyber attacks will be launched, targeting banks, and the Officers of the banks are expected to “work together” in order to devise a plan to combat the attacks. According to David Kennedy, cyber security specialist, “…the financial industry, in general, is largely unprepared for a large scale attack…”

Not trying to be a dooms-dayer, but these two events are scheduled on the same day the federal government is scheduled to default on the outstanding debt. A good family steward would probably want to have a little extra food, water, bullion, cash and anything else that might be necessary to sustain life for a few days. Funny how there was an “upgrade” to the EBT (soup-line) system a mere 5 days ahead of a convergence of 3. What will it hurt to have a few extra necessities around until October 21 or 22? If the banking system goes down, which means all electronic “currency” will not work, would it make sense to have a few extra FRN’s in your wallet?

Don’t forget to tell your family that you love them; spend an extra few minutes with your children and kiss you spouse a couple extra times.
