I believe I will invest in lots of canned (organic) foods, dried beans, rice and water instead. Why would anyone want gold? I have never understood the fascination of this metal in times of crisis. I believe food will be worth more than gold, silver or fiat currency when all hell breaks loose.
I am exhausted from all the hype of metals folks. Eat it. Oh, you can’t? Have fun getting rid of it. It’s heavy and no one will want it when purchasing anything is no longer an option. It will be a gun to your head and hand it over to all the consumable items you may have stored up.
Yes, I have been saying this for a long time. It will be survival of the nastiest. Your food, your car or bike, your weapons… can you fight to protect them? Gold and silver will reign in a price reset, but if chaos escalates, carrying any kind of gold, silver, diamonds, etc. will be dangerous. Will you want to stand in line for hours with a pocket full of silver coins?
There is no question food, weapons, etc. are important but it depends on how bad things get and the position you are in. If you are in mid-life with not a lot of savings the food, weapons, etc. should be first.
But if you are a retiree with a fair amount of savings what do you do after the above mentioned? If things get bad with the dollar like everybody is predicting metals is an option. The stock market is a ruse and is anybody’s guess, interest rates HAVE to stay low or the SHTF quickly to service the debt. With this in mind metals should be considered. This is where Schiff and the rest are coming from.
I don’t understand why people can’t figure out what “store of value” means. You got $100,000 life savings in dollars??? put it in Gold… after the chaos is finished and the majority die off… there will be a new currency, and it will be gold backed. You’ll have a head start, and have preserved your savings. But by all means, survival first. Food, necessities, protection first.
Sell your gold and silver and put the cash in the bank where it’s all safe and you get interest as well.
