IPIN Global announces charity partnership with Afrikids

We are delighted to announce our new charitable partnership with AfriKids, a Children’s Rights organisation working to improve the lives of Ghana’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

Together with IPIN Global Capital based in London, the IPIN Global team will be raising money over the next 12 months with a programme of on-going activities, ranging from sponsored industry cocktail parties to marathons, all designed to raise funds for Ghana’s most disadvantaged communities.

Kicking off fundraising is IPIN’s Jamie Macfarlane who will be taking part in the British ‘Run to the Beat’ (click here to visit Jamie’s Just Giving page to donate) 10km challenge at London’s Wembley Park in September 2014, generating valuable proceeds for AfriKids!

The IPIN/AfriKids charitable venture comes at a time when charities are experiencing falling donations, vital for their survival. Despite signs of moderate economic growth, the Office of national Statistics recently reported that donations to charity fell by 20% during 2011/2012 and even though donations are slowly on the up, charities like AfriKids are recognising the value that corporate partnerships can bring – not only as a way of raising funds but also to raise awareness to their cause.

Managaing Partners of IPIN Global, said: “We are honoured to partner with Afrikids, making a critical difference to the lives of children and their families today, with the hope of creating a better future for all tomorrow”.

Afrikids UK Trustee, Vedrana Bilanovic Riley who is also Managing Director of IPIN Global Capital will host a dedicated area for Afrikids at the MIPIM UK Exhibition Opening Cocktail Party on 15th October 2014.

“I was always a charity sceptic”, she said preferring to believe that funds parachuted in from above are rarely effective, something witnessed first-hand in the reconstruction of her birth place in the former Yugoslavia.

However, Vedrana returned from her first visit to Ghana in October 2010 as impressed by the impact of the charity’s work on the ground as she was by the professionalism of the staff throughout the organisation.

She also added, “I am incredibly fortunate to have this opportunity of sharing my passion of raising awareness and funds for Afrikids within the investment industry and am very excited to see what the future holds for this new partnership”.
