When Jesus quoted Isa. 61:1 in the writing of Lk. 4:18, most translations omitted the sentence
“and to heal the broken hearted”, which can still be found in the KJ and a very few other
translations. Why was that? The answer can be found in the writing of Paul the Missionary.
Organized Christian religion replaced the actual instructions of our Lord with those of the
Paul, for an easy, less “stressful” way without conviction into the Kingdom of God. However,
this is not what our Lord taught. He said in Jhn. 3:3: “You must be Born Again” and to be born
again can only come through a painful process, like a “broken and contrite heart” (spirit) which
most people will resist, just like an unbroken or wild horse will resist its rider.
The leadership of organized religion felt that a “broken and contrite heart” was not a likely to
fill the new, costly and elaborate church buildings (really temples), as well as subjugating the
people under its control. The leadership came up with the now, by most churches accepted
practice of an easy, simpler way of conversion, by avoiding the “broken and contrite heart”
part which leads to the ‘you must born again’ experience with: “The Sinners Prayer”. Jesus
explained this in John.10 this way: “The man who does NOT enter the sheep pen by the gate,
but climes in ‘by some other way’, is a thief and a robber.
Repentance without a “broken and contrite heart” that leads to the NEW Birth, is an invitation
into Religion. The key phrase is: “by some other way”. The missionary Paul made this: “other
way” teaching possible with Romans 10:9,10; which he introduced to his followers. This
was later adopted by most organized religion to this day, by those who have “hi-jacked” the
Christian Church or Body, by “watering it down” into an ineffective religious Institution. “A tree
is recognized by its Fruit”. What we now see is a Christianity, devoted to a Religion (man’s way
reaching out to a deity or God), Denomination or Sect, devoid of a New spirit, replaced by the
spirit of Religion.

How completely true. This is why there’s so much scripture that some perceive as indicating one can lose their salvation when, in fact, the congregation is a mixed group of authentic, born again believers and the deluded, fakes without the Spirit. So scripture preaching to the congregation often has warnings, addressing that group that needs to get real, warning them. There are many professors, many fewer possessors, also mega churches, filled with the deluded, soaking up a false, watered-down and carnal gospel that saves nobody.

When it comes to the faith, I’m only about what scripture supports, based on agreement with many great men of God of the Spirit, they who did well down the ages. I don’t make anything up. Our opinions are not important, rather only the Lord’s truth, and this regardless our own limited thinking or anything we’d like to believe, hence the scripture.
As to revilers, they don’t get me down, and they shouldn’t get people of faith down. You have to consider the source, even praise God there’s something reviled by the world. This, of itself, is a sign of hitting nerves with truth, and, if we’re not upsetting the devil, that should be cause for concern.
