Frustrated Retail Employees Fighting for Work...Anytime...Anywhere!!!

Hired full time…37.5 hours a week. Reality, weekly scheduled hours are 27 hours a week. Still classified as full time!

We have a problem. We have lots of problems but it is serious when we cannot trust and reality does not mesh with figures reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 

Reportedly non farm payroll increased 242,000 in February and unemployment is down to 4.9% 

That is amazing, although as in the past the figures will be revised, so it is difficult to have any confidence Particularily when individuals are being classified as full time when the reality is that it is part time employment!  

Even to obtain these hours, employees are reaching out to other stores in the retail chain!

This is common practice, not an exception of just a few individuals. Employees are roving from store to store , sometimes for just 3 or 4 hour shifts to obtain even part time hours! 

The Bureau of Labor Statistics does report that the average work week for all employees declined by 2 hours.

This does not reflect a healthy economy…employees competing for hours, incorrectly classified as full time vs part time…average work week declining by 2 hours.
