How Quantum Learning Can Help Students with Special Needs

“Quantum Learning helps those students with special needs by tapping into all of the different learning styles and tapping into all of the student’s strengths”, explained today’s guest, Sharon Murphy, the Education Director at Glenholme School  to Lon Woodbury, the host of LA Talk Radios “Parent Choices for Struggling Teens”. By using 8 keys of excellence, the practice of Quantum Learning offers a wide variety of strategies of learning. Through the use of a common language and outlook, the students learn through hands on techniques. And for those students who have a fear of failure, Quantum Learning teaches them that failure leads to success, and they can learn from their mistakes.

Through good solid teaching skills, students learn through an integration of multiple ways in order to engage them in their academics. As an example, Sharon shared that many teachers use music as a strong component in their teaching. “Music, the different types, sounds, beats and volume create memory tags, and when a certain music is played in the classroom, the music played will call up the memory of what was learned in that particular subject. Classical music is used for concentrating, upbeat music for motivating, and soothing, peaceful music for ending a class.”

Many types of concepts and strategies within quantum learning bring success to the students, in addition to learning and using character education, leadership skills, growing through positive affirmations, and teaching students to “take risks” in order to be the best they can be.”
