Bow Making Workshops for Home Schoolers!

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Raphael Bird is a 12 year old homeschooler in Saskatoon, SK and is offering several bow making classes across Saskatchewan and Alberta this summer / fall.   His first class in Alberta will be in Calgary and will be the PVC Longbow  (30-40lb).

This class will take place mid August.

We are still setting exact dates, times and locations based on how many students and their age groups enroll.

There will be two age groups, ages 9-13 and 14-18 for this particular bow style. The difference between the classes are the speed, size, force, weight, creation and design of the bows suited to the age group.

The PVC Longbow is a medium to higher weight bow and is not meant to be a toy for young children, but is for archery and intended to have parental supervision and guidance for the younger students.

The class will be 5-6 hours long in total and will run on one day with a one hour break for a potluck style snack / lunch half way through and some “show and tell” time for the students.

Cost is $75 for the first student in a family and $60 for each additional student in that household.

All the supplies are provided and the child will leave the class with their new bow, arrow, and a full electronic tutorial of how to make their next bow independently from home.

\Raphael asked me to mention that if there are low income families, very large families, or those facing financial hardship, that would like to take the class, that they should be in touch with him to arrange for partial sponsorship into the class or a family rate.

Raphael is looking for both volunteer parent supervisors for his classes and host locations for each class. Please email us if you want information on volunteer or host
requirements / benefits. Hosts receive their first students’ class for free!

To enroll, each student and parent must first watch Raphael’s Parent Introductory video to learn a bit more about the bow and if your child is best suited for this class. We will email you the link upon request.

The deadline for enrolling into this class is August 8th, 2013.   For more info, to enroll, volunteer, or host, contact myself (Carol) or Raphael at 306.931.6861 or email [email protected].
