60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin presents Sen. Mulvaney with the group’s Honorary Guardian of Seniors’ Rights award
Lancaster, S.C. – The Mulvaney for Congress campaign today announced that state Senator Mick Mulvaney, Republican candidate for Congress (SC-5), has been recognized by the 60 Plus Association for his commitment to fighting for seniors.
“I am humbled to receive this award from 60 Plus, and I am proud to be associated with such principled and committed fighters for seniors,” said Mulvaney. “60 Plus understands the importance of not just standing up for the promises that the federal government has made to seniors, but also ensuring that we maintain a stable and solvent social security system for the next generation.”
60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin visited Rock Hill on Sunday night to personally present the honorary award to Senator Mulvaney. Legendary entertainer Pat Boone, who is the spokesman for 60 Plus, also “sung” Sen. Mulvaney’s praises.
Calling Mulvaney a “fighter for the elderly”, Boone, speaking for 60 Plus, remarked, “I’m still singing at concerts, but today I am singing the praises of Mick Mulvaney.”

The 60 Plus Association’s Guardian Award is presented to both Democrats and Republicans in Congress based on their “senior friendly” voting records. The Honorary Award is given to those running for office and is based on their views on seniors’ issues.
