12 Reasons To Support John Boozman - Reason #6

#6. He’s a champion of the 2nd Amendment and has the
NRA’s endorsement to prove it.
 
The right to keep and bear arms isn’t a privilege that the government
voluntarily extends to us.  It’s not some gift we have on loan from
Congress.  It’s not a simple pleasure that federal legislators give us
permission to enjoy.  It’s a fundamental right.  And it’s enshrined
in our Constitution. 

John Boozman recognizes this basic truth. Regretfully, many do not.
 
Each morning, liberal groups, community activists, and anti-gun politician wake
up in Washington and levy a full-blown assault against gun owners.  They
tell the public that their goal is to “clean up the streets,” “protect
children,” “improve our communities,” and “save lives.”   
 
These agents have no concept of gun ownership.  They certainly have no
desire to protect the Constitution, and they will do anything to advance their
anti-gun agenda.
 
They work with high-priced lawyers to identify sympathetic, activist judges and
advance their agenda through the courts.  They recruit high-priced
lobbyists to regulate gun shows, sports shooting, manufacturers, distributors,
hunting, and gun possession laws—at the federal, state, and local level.
 They lob relentless “safety awareness” campaigns designed to influence
public opinion with misleading gun stories and statistics.  They curry favor
with big city politicians who’d rather blame guns for all their problems than
address the drugs, gangs, broken homes, failing schools, and government
dependency that destroy their communities.  They reinvent what our
Constitution says and what our founders’ believed, and they’ll stop at nothing
to reach their goals.
 
Arkansas needs an advocate in the United States Senate with the courage to say
“No.”  We need a voice that stands up to these groups and fights for
hunters, sports shooters, collectors, and law enforcement officials. Arkansas
needs John Boozman.
 
With an “A” rating and from the NRA and and “A+” rating from Gun Owners of
America, as well as the endorsement of both organizations, John Boozman is the
clear pro-gun champion in this race. NRA President Chris Cox described John as
“a staunch defender of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding gun owners,
hunters and sportsmen in Arkansas.”  John is the author of the “Secure
Access to Firearms Enhancement (SAFE) Act,” an effort to strengthen concealed carry
laws allowing law-abiding citizens who can legally carry in their home state to
carry all across the country. He is a cosponsor of the “Citizen’s Self-Defense
Act,” as well as the “Right to Carry Reciprocity Act,” which allows individuals
with a valid concealed firearm permit to carry a weapon across state lines.
 He is also a member of the Second Amendment Task Force.
 
In short, John’s pro-gun voting record is second to none.  He recognizes
that the Second Amendment is the cornerstone of our constitutional rights from
which all our other freedoms are guaranteed.  He understands that gun
ownership saves lives and that the Second Amendment keeps us safe. As Senator,
he will continue to protect the Constitution and fight for Arkansas gun-owners.
