Herseth Sandlin Blatantly Misleading Voters About Support for Bailout
SIOUX FALLS – On the heels of Tuesday’s debate on South Dakota Public Television, Kristi Noem, candidate for South Dakota’s Lone Congressional seat, sought to clarify Rep. Herseth Sandlin’s record on the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
In response to a comment by Kristi Noem at the debate on Rep. Herseth Sandlin’s vote for the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Rep. Herseth Sandlin falsely said:
“I opposed the Wall Street Bailouts that included the bailouts of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.”
According to the Argus Leader in July 2008 under the headline “Bailout Gets House Approval,” Herseth Sandlin supported the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The vote was 272-152, with South Dakota Democratic Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin voting with the majority.”
