Ed Martin Leads by Example

(ST. LOUIS, MO.) October 14, 2010 – Ed Martin recently bought a new pair of shoes. Why do you care? It’s the story surrounding these shoes that sends a message. For years Ed Martin has shopped solely at Hampton Shoe, located at 5101 Hampton Ave in St. Louis, for his footwear. While we all have our favorite stores – Hampton Shoe sells only American made shoes. Ed Martin’s new shoes are Neil M. Footwear which is located in Wynne, Arkansas and employees hundreds of American workers.

“I’ve worn out several pairs of my American made boots and shoes hitting the streets of Missouri’s 3^rd district meeting with constituents,” said Ed Martin. “Each worn sole on my shoes serves as a symbol of my commitment to American jobs. Every day we lose more and more American manufacturing jobs. We can and must do better. Through small steps like this and my grassroots Shop Local – Hire Local effort we can change the American job outlook. I plan to wear my new Neil M. Footwear dress shoes on the floor of the U.S. Congress as a message to the American people that I am committed to doing better for American jobs – no matter how many shoe soles I must tread bare to do it.”
