Both Liberal Politicians Now Understand Unanimous Rejection Of Massive Tax Hike Proposals

Whether it’s their support for a massive health care bill, reckless government spending, higher taxes or a record debt, there’s been little doubt that Tim Kaine and his former boss President Obama have a lot in common.  But a vote in the Senate yesterday added another one to that long list.

In an embarrassing and unanimous 99-0 rejection, every single Senator voted against President Obama’s massive budget proposal that was filled with even more spending and higher taxes.  But only former DNC Chairman Tim Kaine could truly know how the President felt yesterday.

As Virginia Governor in 2010, Kaine proposed one of the largest tax increases in the Commonwealth’s history which not even a single Democrat in the House of Delegates could bring themselves to support.  As the Roanoke Times reported on January 22, 2010:

• Not a single member of the House of Delegates voted Thursday to support former Gov. Tim Kaine’s proposal to increase the state income tax and effectively eliminate the personal property tax on vehicles.

“Wednesday’s unanimous rejection of massive new tax hikes is another reminder that President Obama and Tim Kaine have more than a few things in common.  And both liberal leaders have now learned the hard way that their desire to impose massive tax hikes on Virginia families is exactly the wrong way to create jobs and rebuild our economy,” National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesman Brian Walsh said today.
