Our Election System Needs to be Repaired in AZ Now

I wrote to the same friend in the GOP again:

I’ve finished all paperwork for the Senate Campaign and would appreciate a little guidance on this one if you wouldn’t mind. Now as for the GOP well some won’t allow me to come and speak as they say we have 2 candidates already, I find this offensive since we had write ins as well and groups allowed them to speak at our events after the signatures were turned in and no one was in court or violated the rules, this Party is asking for more trouble than they need and should be open to this since all have followed State Laws and I for one wouldn’t be doing this if Mitchell would have as well. This behavior shows a total disregard for the system and once again as you pointed out to me reinforces the idea they intend to appoint our Rep. which in itself is a form of Fraud on the Voters.

             This is the response with personal part edited out for privacy;   And, regarding the GOP, I agree with their position…again, one of the reason I told you, you must have their support to win this.  Political parties are private parties, which you are a member of, BUT there is an election process of primaries & generals one of which you chose – for good reasons – not to participate in.  So they have no obligation to you, to allow you to speak or campaign.  This thing is a MESS.  I respect the rule or law and our election process.

We have our 2 duly elected Republican candidates for the House for LD 13 who will be on the ballot. Our Club is not having any write-in candidates at our meetings.

I’m hoping all who read this will try to understand that we’re dealing with our rights in this matter and even though as far as I know all who’ve filed to be write in candidates have followed the rules set down by the State and are registered as Republicans, some in the Republican Party have decided that they don’t believe they need or are required to allow us to speak. This is unfortunate and only demonstrates to me the same type of treatment I was given by some when I ran for the US Senate in AZ as well. They want to pick the winners and losers an intend to guard the Franchise they belong to, I’m hoping in the Future we’ll all be able to fix this.
