voting in a presidential election means as much as a fart in the wind. NOTHING!! the electoral college chooses the president or more to the point, he/she who counts the electoral votes chooses the president! YOUR VOTE MEANS NOTHING!!
@Desertspeaks.. let me educate you on the Electoral College since you dont understand it in its full context. Yes you vote the electors and they legally cast the ballots for President. However, the electors are selected by the voters and and are vetted by their candidates before getting on the ballot. A quick check over the years since 1776 show almost all (probably over 99%) voting for the candidate they were originally pledged to. The idea was that if the masses were duped by someone or something unscupulis that the electors could bolt from the masses and step in the preserve the Republic. Ironically, that happened with Obama’s ineligibility to run as President and the ensuing fraud-from that perspective the electoral college was needed to function as intended in 2008 and the system broke down.
The electoral college also mixes things up to hold the country together. A diverse patchwork of states to get to victory must be played to ….instead of just the biggest states and biggest cities-thereby giving some importance to all states.
