$200 Oil per barrel solutions

Oil is quickly reaching over $100 per barrel[1] in 2011.  Predictions are for $4.00 – $5.00 per gallon gasoline this year. I am sure this will be great for the “economic recovery” already in place.

 

As these prices continue to inflate countries such as the Arab nations and Venezuela are hoping for our demise. China and Russia are trying to halt the dollar from remaining the world’s currency[2] and America continues to decline as our leaders act helpless.  It seems as if the only answer they have is to print money and hope for the best.  Debt?  Who cares?  We can always borrow or print more, right?

 

In the meantime the US has over 400 Billion barrels of oil reserves in North Dakota alone[3].  There are over 100 Billion Barrels in ANWR Alaska[4] that our government will not drill because of the wildlife in the region.  The Unites States also has billions of barrels in the Gulf of Mexico, and off the coast of California and Florida. But of course we choose to disallow drilling and import over 14 million barrels a day.  In fact, Obama has created a mandate that prevents US companies from drilling in the Gulf of Mexico for 7 years[5] and at the same time he gives Billions of our dollars to Mexico[6] and Brazil[7] to drill in the same Gulf of Mexico that we can no longer drill.  Does anyone find this troubling?  Did I mention that China and Cuba are now drilling 80 miles off the Florida Coast[8]? What are these people in Washington doing????

 

The US has over 200 years’ worth of reserves but we choose to ship over $400 million a day to Saudi and other nations[9].  Imagine if that money stayed in America instead of funding these Muslim nations.  (As a side note the US is this Saudi Arabia of Coal and Natural Gas[10] but it seems as if we have chosen to ignore this fact and how these reserves could also help solve our problems.)

 

Now get this…with food inflation and worldwide food shortages already taking place we choose to make ethanol mandatory and even increase its usage[11].  Ethanol is only 3/4 efficient as oil and it takes a great deal of energy to turn corn into fuel. Food shortages and prices will increase as we use more corn for fuel[12].

 

So instead of using our proven energy reserves the US gov’t chooses to burn its food source. Amazing, I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried.  Can you imagine generations into the future when they study our time and wonder if our mental development had somehow declined?

 

By using our own reserves it has been estimated that we would increase our finical position by $18 Trillion[13] and be independent of the nations that wish us harm. Just imagine all the wonderful jobs that would be created by exploiting our own resources?  Is anyone in Washington listening???

 

With over 200 years of reserves the US has more than enough time to develop new energy sources, create jobs, end our finical problems, and make us #1 in the world again.  Why are we waiting? What could possibly be more important that our countries financial and energy freedom, and our liberty?  I guess the Obama Healthcare Bill will fix everything, right?

 

Either our leaders are ignorant and don’t have access to this information or they are being controlled by corporations, lobbyist, countries, and other agencies that want to prevent our success.  It seems clear that our government is not acting in the best interest of its citizens.

 

I demand an answer from our leaders to this simple question…  Why are you turning your back on this great country and the people that elected you into power?  We, the people of the US, demand answers and action immediately.

 

One other item of energy interest:  We have over 2 TRILLION BARRELS of oil in shale reserves just waiting to be recovered[14].  Imagine if we used some of that stimulus money to recover this oil and create our own wealth instead of sending Billions of this money to other countries[15].  Just a thought but I am sure our politicians could explain this much better than I could.
