Oil, Oil and More Oil. America Has More Than Any Other Nation.

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

OIL—you better be sitting down when you read this ! !

Here’s an astonishing read.  Important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, “I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer;  how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground?”  Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, “more than all the Middle East put together.”  Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big.  It was a revised report (hadn’t been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota , western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana ….. check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska ’s Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable… at $107 a barrel, we’re looking at a resource base worth more than $5…3 trillion.

“When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea…” says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature’s financial analyst.

“This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years,” reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette .  It’s a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the ‘Bakken.’  It stretches from Northern Montana , through North Dakota and into Canada .  For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end.  Even the ‘Big Oil’ companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken’s massive reserves….. and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels.  And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That’s enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight.  And if THAT didn’t throw you on the floor, then this next one should – because it’s from 2006!

U… S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online – 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels.  On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news:  We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth.. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it’s all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy…..WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we’ve got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped.  That’s more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports   The Denver Post .
Don’t think ‘ OPEC ‘ will drop its price – even with this find?  Think again!  It’s all about the competitive marketplace, – it has to.   Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet?  Now, while you’re thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along.   If you don’t take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices – by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way…this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!
GOOGLE it, or follow this link.  It will blow your mind.

The statistics cited in this piece are fairly old – the most recent being the 2008 US Geological Survey’s estimate of offshore oil reserves in the Outer Continental Shelf, so all of this has been widely and repeatedly reported and none of it is new. The US is one of the world’s largest oil producers, but we also use much more energy per person than any other nation on earth, and we are net importers of oil. It certainly makes sense for us to figure out how to use what we have. President Jimmy Carter tried to implement energy efficiency measures after the oil embargo and energy crisis of the late 1970s, but when oil prices dropped to $20/barrel, after Saudi Arabia reopened the spigots, all that went away. Don’t forget that this is a global market and US oil companies invest in areas where they can make money producing resources. Meanwhile, the US is trying again to implement energy efficiency measures, in higher fuel economy standards for cars and trucks and more efficient ways of using other resources, including electricity and natural gas. China and other countries are doing this too, as the rate at which we are currently using natural resources is unsustainable given population growth estimates.

When you hear arguments that environmentalists are keeping the US from producing oil, just think of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, the 5 million barrels of oil spilled in the Gulf of Mexico, the 11 people who were killed, the wildlife that was hurt, the great loss to the fishing industry and to families who rely on fishing and shrimping for their livelihoods – this is the price that we pay when the government doesn’t adequately regulate production of natural resources. Environmental groups oversee this regulation and file lawsuits to compel the government to enforce existing laws that protect the environment and public health. Most of them are not trying to stop resource development, but to ensure that companies do so in an environmentally responsible manner. Certainly, some groups aim to stop development, but they’re in the minority, because the fact is, we all rely on energy to live. It’s true that the US has among the world’s most stringent environmental regulations, but we also have some of the world’s most pristine natural areas, cleanest drinking water and safe communities. There’s a balance here. Don’t believe the hype.

Your link provided says only 3.5 billion of recoverable oil in the Bakken……Where do you get 500 billion barrels?

    • Se777en

The Desert Conservative…..are you going to answer the question? Where did you get 500 billion from?

There is more that they aren’t even talking about. Go to youtube and do search for Lindsey Williams, he has a eight part video about the oil discovery on Gull Island off the east dock Prudhoe Bay in Alaska. According to what Lindsey Williams was told the oil at Gull Island was larger that the oil fields in Saudi Arabia. It is also a completely separate oil field from Prudhoe Bay different chemical make up of the oil. The Trilateral Commission puppet President Carter then classified the oil discovery and the oil field. Why would he do that after the first oil shortage. Also in spring of 2008 the Long Beach Press Telegram had a front page article saying that there was still 2 billion barrels oil in the Long Beach oil field. There is no such thing as peak oil the planet makes it all the tiime.

SNOPES Bakken oil field you will see this is Total BS

    • Idiot Proof

Snopes is extremely unreliable, look it up…

    • Idiot Proof

Oil is abiotic, not a fossil fuel. If the Earth is continually producing oil, then, how is peak oil a reality? I am sure that all you have heard most of your life is that there is a finite amount of oil on this planet. I am also sure that there is a lot more that you have been told most of your life that is equally untrue. Those in power invested a lot of money and resources to consolidate the major media outlets so that they could strictly control what information gets out to the unsuspecting public. Peak oil is a talking point of the MSM, and as such should not be taken at face value. Even the idea that oil will be harder and harder to extract from the ground is at least very misleading.

    • Idiot Proof

Well, Anon, your first link has pages that talk about man made global warming, and carbon credits. I will decline to repeat what I had just said about the MSM…

However, I will let you know that I won’t be engaging in further discussions with idiots who hide behind anonymity, either.

I am quite sure that you left this site and did a search not for accurate information about the oilfield, but merely any website purporting the claims of many billions of barrels of oil to be false.

You do yourself at least as much a disservice in not getting accurate information for yourself, as you do to others in presenting misleading or just plain false information.

    • Se777en

The Abiogenic Petroleum Origin theory was just that…a proof-less theory. It fell short and lost the majority of the scientific community’s backing because it was never able to make any sound predictions for the discovery of oil deposits.

The presence of methane on Saturn’s moon Titan and in the atmospheres of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune being cited as proof of the formation of hydrocarbons without biology falls short, because we have no idea whether there is microscopic biology on those bodies or not. It has been recently discovered that thermophilic bacteria, in the sea bottom and in cooling magma, produce methane and hydrocarbon gases.

So it’s the damn environmentalists who are keeping USA from tapping into that sweet sweet oil eh? How you shamelessly manipulate facts to support your narrative. Of course polluting the environment doesnt figure into your profit calculations, it’s all about the oil oil oil! Ah well, seem the Native Americans are right: we will be the cause of our own demise.

Anonymous, we can’t rely on Snopes. At first, they were reliable when it was just the couple working from their garage. Then they become so overwhelmed that they had to hire people (who were very liberal, and didn’t completely research everything.).
Then George Soros found out that people “relied” on this site — and bought it. Yep! Soros bought it so he could “confirm or deny” any issues he wanted to go his way!

Peak oil is an invention of the corporate slave masters. That is why they tell us it comes from rotten dinosaurs and petrified wood. It is a fabricated lie.
Old oilfields are constantly being replenished however at a slow pace, but a process of thermaldepolymerization; natural extreme pressure and heat deep within the earth’s surface is a perpetual source of oil and gas. The key question: is man going to keep using it to enslave the masses?
It will never run out…..there is enough of it to bring on the demise of civilization, because it is being used by the elite to control the populations of the world.

    • Anonymous

Peak oil isn’t just about running out of oil. It is about world production peaking, which it did years ago, and now the amount produced world wide has been in decline ever since. What do you think is going to happen when the amount of oil being produced is not nearly enough for the world’s demand? The price of oil will sky rocket and it will cripple the world’s economy. Most of the newly found oil fields are at best 1-2 weeks worth of oil for the entire U.S. Somebody show me proof that there is enough oil for demand indefinitely and where are the refineries to produce it? You can’t so don’t even bother…..your arguments of plenty of oil forever are so idiotic it is beyond belief. You will see very soon how wrong you are.

Try a Google for peak oil charts

    • Upaces

This is absolutely false! There are working oil wells in Texas that our dear govt. shut down because the POS in the WH wants us to “rely” on Oil in the Middle East. Plus, Bush Sr. & Jr. were in partners with Bin Laden in the Oil Business.

Canada also has a great deal of Oil yet to drill as well as Oklahoma and Alaska; and that is all I have at the tip of my tongue. The BP Oil spill? It was deliberate sabotage to keep us dependent on Middle East Oil.

If you think we are at war to save those poor little people in the Middle East for the sake of bringing Peace to them — you are sadly mistaken. IT IS ALL ABOUT OIL, my friends… it is all about OIL.

    • Richard William Posner

Frankly, I’d almost be pleased to believe that this article was factual. That way we could just keep consuming more, more, more and hasten the extinction of the parasite homo sapiens sapiens. The faster we pump pollution into the air, the sooner Earth becomes incapable of supporting the existence of humans. Once the human virus is gone, Earth can recover so something better can evolve.
The information for this “article” is from 2008. If there was any truth to it, don’t you think the profit machine would have gone into top gear by now? In spite of the destruction of the american economy and the elimination of the middle class, the oil industry has been making record profits, double in some cases, the last few years. No matter how much they make, it’s never enough. If there was that much oil in those locations, which could be extracted at a profit, it would already be happening.
From the same source as the “article”:
“This item about untapped oil reserves in the Bakken formation (which lies within portions of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana) appears to have been taken from a tout sheet intended to sell subscriptions to an investment newsletter. It is vaguely true in the sense that geologists have estimated there is a good deal of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil in that area, and as the price of crude oil increases and the technology for extracting resources from formations like Bakken improves, that area becomes more and more economically viable as a source of oil for the U.S. However, the estimate of over 500 billion barrels of oil to be recovered from the Bakken formation is an overly optimistic one based on incomplete, outdated information.”
Oil producing nations are constantly “reevaluating” the numbers when it comes to “known” oil reserves. It’s just more market manipulation.
“Consider this: America imports 12 million barrels a day, and Saudi Arabia only produces 9 million a day. Is there really more undiscovered oil here than in all of Saudi Arabia?
World oil production peaked in 2005. Despite growing demand and an unprecedented increase in prices, oil production has fallen over the last three years. Oil is getting more expensive to produce, harder to find and there just isn’t enough of it to keep up with demand.
The simple truth is that cheap and easy oil is gone.”
      http://www.pickensplan.com/theplan/
Abiotic oil is about as realistic as intelligent design. If willful ignorance floats your boat, go ahead and “believe” in both.
“Belief is the death of intelligence. As soon as one believes a doctrine of any sort, or assumes certitude, one stops thinking about that aspect of existence.”
      Robert Anton Wilson
