First you can’t fully dependent on solar system for hole day because in rainy session you in trouble.And if you put higher capacity solar system that is also problem because if you are not able to use full energy of solar system generate in one day than your extra power generated by the solar system is waste so i always recommended use solar system slightly lower than your daily power used.So it is fully utilized and you get maximum of your investment.
If you know that how much your day electricity consumption than you know how many batteries you need for energy storage for night.
You need integrated system so when your solar system power is over than it switched your building load on grid power.I strongly recommended you that configure your solar system accordingly to your day electricity consumption because if you use solar system only for your day time electricity consumption than you need small size of set of batteries for solar system which make your solar system cheaper and give you more return on your investment.
If you use solar system for hole day and night than you need large no. Of batteries for energy storage which is according to your night electricity consumption and make your solar system costly also it makes your maintenance cost higher because batteries need to be changed in 3-4 years according use of batteries.
