It seems like yesterday (actually back in May of this year) that Lecrae was enjoying the successful release and buzz from his most recent mixtape, Church Clothes. Then seemingly out of nowhere comes his new CD, Gravity. Only because of the quick timing, I was skeptical on purchasing the CD. But after getting it, I was extremely glad I did. I would put Gravity up against any Hip Hop CD out right now. It truly is just that good. And apparently, America thought so too. Gravity, Lecrae’s 6th album, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and No. 1 on the Rap and Christian Albums charts. His sales for the opening week topped out just over 72,000 copies. His fan base is obviously broadening and his CD even features an appearance from mainstream rap artist Big Krit.
