Acid Attack: My Story

The United Kingdom is currently experiencing a scary rise in acid attacks. The number of reported attacks has doubled since 2012, and now autorities and hosptals seeng two attacks being carried out every single day, with 450 happening in London alone.

Using acid to attack a victim seems to have become the weapon of choice amongst gangs, being easy to conceal and use, leaving devastating and lasting damage to the victim. The police also have a harder time finding this ‘weapon’, since the carrier can disguise the caustic liquid as a bottle of water.

This powerful film we hear Naomi Oni’s story of an attack in 2012 when she was doused in sulphuric acid. The attacker, disguised in a niqab, had been stalking her around London. This acid attack, considered one of the most shocking and bizarre in recent years, is a twisted and dark tale of betrayal, calculation and ultimately, devastation.
