La Reina Del Mariachi Receives Special Recognition, from the United States Congress!
La Reina Del Mariachi , Katherine Glen was recognized last Saturday in the city of New York where she received a prestigious recognition from the United States Congress as Outstanding Singer of Ranchera /Mariachi Music . Glen, the only female Mariachi singer to have broken barriers in a musical genre dominated by men , has won numerous awards as best Mariachi singer for many consequitive years throughout the City of New York. United States congressmen Mr. Adriano Espaillat handed her the distinguished recognition for being the only singer in the state of New York to excel and bring that musical genre internationally.
The Special award ceremony was held at The Summer Festival, in Plaza De Las Americas in the city of New York. The festival projects outstanding artists from different cultures and genres. The singer closed the Festival by singing songs from her most recent music album . The audience cheered while singing her songs. The singer, , has been showcased on the Prestigious Premio lo Nuestro transmitted by the Univision Network and winning Awards as Best Ranchera Singer, in The Mexican Music Awards, Premios Gruperos Awards, Festival De La Voz, and among others, for several consecutive years making her the maximum exponent of the Ranchera Music and of Greatest Projection in the United States, especially in New York City.
La Reina Del Mariachi performed at Univision primer festival del Mariachi in in 2013 where she was the only winner in the state of New York to compete with another 6 very talented singers of the same musical genre. She has participated in television programs such as Sabado Gigante, and La Voz Kids where she gave advice to young aspiring contestants for the contest. The singing competition The Voice , transmitted by the Telemundo Television network, welcomed her as a special guest artist. The album “La Reina Del Mariachi ” has received positive reviews, and is being highly requested on major Radio stations .
